1. WHAT YOU CAN USE:

You are allowed to use the material in the bag provided by the coordinators of The Repurposing Project. You may also use other fabrics you find yourself. We ask that any additional fabrics be recycled fabrics. Remember, the judges will be looking to see how the items in the bag were used and transformed, so adding a bit of something else here and there is okay, but using mostly outside fabric, however pretty, will not help you win.

2. WHAT YOU CAN DO TO THE FABRIC:

Rip it, tear it, shred it, dye it, bop it...seriously, you can do anything. If you want to treat the fabric somehow with chemicals, we ask that you do your best to use environmentally friendly products. (If you know of a place to find such products in Athens, please tell us!)

3. WHO CAN MAKE IT:

You and only you, please. In the interest of fairness to all contestants, we do not allow teams to compete.

4. HOW AND WHERE YOU CAN MAKE IT:

However and wherever works for you!

5. WHO MODELS THE OUTFIT:

When submitting the entry form, you will be asked to decide whether you want to provide your own model (Note: Designers cannot model their own creations) or if you would like one to be provided for you.

6. WHO KEEPS THE OUTFIT:

We'll leave this up to you, but we hope you'll keep it around! Even if you don't win, you may be asked if you'd like to show your work in a future fashion event.

7. HOW THE ENTRIES WILL BE JUDGED:

     + Creativity

     + Resourcefulness

     + Presentation

     + Quality

     + Eco Friendly Techniques

NOTE: This year, we will provide each participating designer with a breakdown of how the judges will be rating your garments.

8. WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU AS A DESIGNER:

If you are selected to be an official contestant, we expect of you what we expect of ourselves. Everyone involved with The Repurposing Project should be respectful and able to communicate in a timely fashion. You'll be the guest of honor at a big event, and we'll have a lot of wrangling to do to make sure it all goes smoothly. We want this to be the best possible experience for you, and we can't do that without your cooperation! Designers will have contact information for the Designer Coordinator and should feel free to get in touch whenever they have a question or issue before, during, and after the show.

9. WHY WE ARE DOING THIS:

We love the Athens fashion scene! We think this is a great opportunity to help it grow by adding fresh faces and encouraging innovation while keeping in mind the impact we all can have on the health of our environment and community.

10. MOST IMPORTANTLY:

     Have fun!
